The High Court (Chamberlain J) has given an interim judgment in R (GB News) v Ofcom, a claim for judicial review of Ofcom’s decision that a Q&A programme with Rishi Sunak in February 2024 breached impartiality rules in the Broadcasting Code. The Court granted permission to apply for judicial review, but refused GB News’ application for interim relief to restrain Ofcom from proceeding with its decision-making on the issue of sanction.
