During 2024 and 2025, 11KBW’s Harini Iyengar has successfully represented the Bar Standards Board in prosecuting three significant cases of serious sexual misconduct by barristers.  In each case, the sexual misconduct was by a senior male barrister towards a younger female in a more junior role.  In BSB v Kearney, the proceedings resulted in an order for disbarment (currently under appeal).  In BSB v Wheetman, the proceedings resulted in an order for suspension from practice for 24 months and £3,000 in costs.  In BSB v Sidhu (where Harini was led by Fiona Horlick KC), the proceedings resulted in an order for disbarment, currently open to appeal.  A barrister who is disbarred has a right of appeal to the High Court without requiring permission.  Findings and sanctions by the Bar disciplinary tribunal are published here.
