11KBW invites you to two related half day seminars to be held at the Crowne Plaza, 70 Shudehill, Manchester M4 4AF on Wednesday, 22 March 2017.
The Community Care seminar will be held from 9.30am – 1pm.
The COP/DOLS seminar will be held from 2pm – 4.30pm.
People are welcome to sign up for either or both seminars.

The sessions will be directed at updates on recent developments in the law in these areas.
Topics in the Community Care seminar will include –
- Recent case-law on community care / Care Act
- Ordinary Residence: implications of Cornwall and handling O.R. disputes
- No recourse to public funds and human rights assessments
- Age dispute litigation: compelling assessments following Y v Croydon, status of dental evidence, procedure.
Topics in the COP/DOL seminar will include –
- DOL in private settings after K v Staffs CC
- Contact / Art 8 issues as DOL
- Other recent developments concerning DOL & remaining areas of uncertainty
- Update on recent COP cases
- Using COP to safeguard vulnerable adults in the community
Both sessions will be intermediate-level, aimed at people with some knowledge or experience in these areas. They are not intended to provide basic or introductory-level training. Speakers: Jonathan Auburn, Paul Greatorex, Joanne Clement and Zoe Gannon.

Registration for the morning session will be from 9.00am with the conference starting at 9.30am until 1pm.
Registration for the afternoon session will be from 1.30pm with the conference starting at 2pm until 4.30pm.
Lunch will be from 1pm – 2pm – you are most welcome to join us for lunch if you are attending either session.
Cost: £40 + VAT (£8.00) = £48.00 per session. If you wish to attend the full day we will give a 10% discount on the price (for both sessions cost = £86.40 including 10% discount)

We do not have the facilities to accept payments by credit or debit cards.

CANCELLATIONS
A refund can be made up to 14 days before the conference. A substitute delegate will be accepted any time before the conference.
