We are pleased to announce that Christopher Jeans KC is named Barrister of the Week in The Lawyer (2 July 2021) after he had appeared for Deliveroo in the Court of Appeal. The Court held that the requirement of personal service in the “worker” definition is compatible with Article 11 of the European Convention on Human Rights and that, because delivery workers had the genuine right to use substitutes, the necessary “employment relationship“ did not exist for the purposes of Article 11.
