We are delighted to announce that Elizabeth Prochaska is joining chambers on the 6th of January.
Elizabeth a is a public lawyer, specialising in education, equality and human rights law. She also has a growing practice and expertise in investigations. She was most recently Legal Director of the Equality and Human Rights Commission where she oversaw high-profile public interest litigation and investigations. She has a keen interest in institutional effectiveness and good governance, and is a non-executive member of the Bar Standards Board. Elizabeth has recently been appointed the new Chair of the Public Law Project.
In 2015 Elizabeth was appointed First Junior Counsel at the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse. She was responsible for establishing and overseeing 13 investigations into a wide range of institutions, as well as leading the investigation into residential schools.
Elizabeth is a co-author of leading legal textbooks, Blackstone Guide to Human Rights Act (2015) and LAG Guide to Special Educational Needs and Disability in Schools (2017). She has also contributed to books on prison law, human rights and criminal justice.
Elizabeth’s expertise will add further strength and depth to 11KBW’s already top-ranked key practice areas of public, education, human rights and discrimination law. In addition, the extensive experience she brings in investigations will consolidate and enhance that rapidly developing area of chambers’ practice.
