The Bar Council has brought forward the application timetable for the 2017 Pupillage Gateway. The gateway will be open to applications from 9th January 2017 with offers to be made on 3 May 2017. 11KBW intends to continue to ask pupillage applicants to undertake an assessed mini-pupillage. Accordingly, we ask pupillage applicants to submit applications for an assessed mini-pupillage by 14th of November 2016.
We will invite candidates for assessed mini-pupillages to a short interview in chambers in December 2016. If that causes particular difficulties, we will consider applications for alternative arrangements, such as interview by video conference. Assessed mini-pupillages will take place between January and March 2017. In exceptional circumstances, applicants for pupillage may ask to submit a written answer to a mini-pupillage problem instead of doing an assessed mini-pupillage in chambers. Any such application should also be made by 14 November 2016 for those applying for pupillage commencing in October 2018.
